Benjamin L. Ervin, the most recent graduate of the SEE PhD program, accepted a technical staff position at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. His initial position will be in the Bio-defense Systems Group. As part of this interdisciplinary team, he will help develop and analyze strategies for the defense against biological and chemical terrorism aimed at military and civilian targets. His doctoral work was on developing a methodology for monitoring corrosion in reinforced concrete using guided ultrasonic waves. Benjamin received both his M.S. and B.S. in General Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. 100107

New Policy for Senior Design (GE 494/495 & IE 470)
Registration for Senior Design is now based on your UIN. Students whose UIN ends in an even number will take Senior Design in the fall semester. Students whose UIN ends in an odd number will take Senior Design in the spring semester. To petition an exemption to the semester you are assigned to take the course, you must complete a petition and submit to 209 TB.
