Graduate Research Poster
The Department of Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering offers graduate study leading to the degrees of Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial Engineering (IE), and Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Systems and Entrepreneurial Engineering (SEE). The department also offers a joint degree program, the Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Master of Business Administration (MSIE/MBA), currently under revision. The IE program is based in advanced studies that focus on operations research, optimization, supply chain management, financial engineering, quality and reliability engineering and production management, with the aim to advance modeling, simulation, analysis and decision making for complex engineering systems. The SEE program is founded on the premise of dual competency in both traditional engineering and in the business side of engineering. The SEE program offers flexibility by permitting the student to select from a menu of advanced courses and take a wide range of electives to meet individual career goals. Graduates of these programs are prepared to enter professional engineering positions in industry, government, and private practice. The joint MSIESE/MBA program allows the student to earn both the Master of Science in SEE or IE and the MBA degrees.
The Graduate College requires candidates for the MS degree to complete all requirements for the degree within five calendar years after first registration in the Graduate College. However, the Department expects candidates for the MS degree typically to complete all the requirements within two academic years. A doctoral candidate normally must complete all requirements within seven years of first registering in the Graduate College, unless the student is enrolled in a department for which the Graduate College has approved a different time limit for earning a doctoral degree.
The existing Master of Science in General Engineering degree program is not accepting new students and is being replaced by the MS SEE degree program.
